Homeroom debates

The Homeroom Debates is a ‘lite’ version of the monthly newsletter. They offer 2-slide critical thinking exercises for students, without requiring them to read the media sources.

The debates can be used by IB and non-IB students alike; within a homeroom or tutorial classroom, or during PSE lessons, to encourage debate, discussion, and critical thinking about real-world events and issues.

Access the free homeroom debates via the padlet below. The debates can also be found within the mini-lessons. Share the padlet with non-TOK teachers, and get everyone debating critically about the world.

To see the rest of the homeroom debates, and receive 20 new ones every month, become a faculty member of the site here. You’ll also be able to benefit from our other pioneering resources for TOK and critical thinking.

Help your learners to exit their echo chambers!

Our online and in-person workshops offer the usual support for students writing the essay and exhibition, and TOK departments designing great courses.

But our training sessions go much further than this: by focusing on authentic critical thinking, they demonstrate how to help learners confront, rather than confirm, their biases and assumptions, and exit their echo chambers. This makes them accessible and relevant for all teachers, whatever their subject or programme. Read more here.
