The TOK assessment tasks

There’s no exam in TOK. Instead, students create an exhibition at the end of DP1, and write an essay at the beginning of DP2.

Your TOK lessons should regularly refer to the assessment tasks, and be designed around the development of the skills required to carry them out effectively. You should also be ready to provide your students with plenty of support when they take on the two tasks.

Overseeing the essay & exhibition

The two assessment tasks sit at the heart of the TOK course, and we have dedicated resources for both. Our assessment lessons provide four classroom-ready lessons per task, and our Essay Assistant and Exhibition Assistant pages guide students through each task step by step.

We also deliver a webinar on the prescribed essay titles each time they are released, and have also run a webinar on designing a great exhibition presentation. Between the lessons, the assistants, and the webinars, your students will be as well prepared as it is possible to be!
