Real-world resources

Real-world resources

Our real world resources invite teachers and learners to apply TOK to the real-world, and use the concepts, ideas, and aspects of the course to make sense of what’s going on around the globe.

They can be used as stand-alone resources, alongside our TOK world resources, augment the TOK lessons that we produce, or passed onto other teachers to integrate the course with the rest of the Diploma Programme.

The newsletter is our central resource to enable students and teachers to apply TOK concepts and ideas to the real world, and connect all DP subjects to what is going on right now. The newsletter also forms the basis of our TOK mini-lessons.

Investigating Issues gathers over 150 major global issues, and invites students to explore them via TOK. Each month we add new issues, and provide more media sources to keep students connected to contemporary events going on around the globe.

Knowledge heroes allows you to draw on the ideas of more than 100 of the most influential thinkers from the past and present. Students can use their ideas to understand the TOK course, and support the arguments and claims they make in their essays and exhibitions.

Our TOK via TED resource draws on some of the best TED talks to help students understand the themes and areas of knowledge, and introduce them to some of the most important contemporary thinkers on a wide range of different topics.

Inspire, motivate, and entertain your students via these brilliant and thought-provoking movies and TV shows. We link each one to an idea or ideas that relate to the course, and encourage students to think more about their relationship with the world.

Set up a TOK workshop

Make full use of these resources by combining them with an in-school or online workshop for your DP teachers.

We’ll help you to integrate the course with the rest of the DP, channel TOK to develop real-world critical thinking, and unlock the full potential of this brilliant aspect of the Diploma.
